Claims involving public transit or school districts can have strict notice deadlines. Don't wait to talk to an attorney.
Buses carry dozens of people who have no seatbelt and no control over how the vehicle is driven. That’s why Wisconsin law holds bus operators, as common carriers, to a higher standard of care than an ordinary driver. When a city bus, charter coach or school bus driver is distracted, fatigued, speeding or poorly trained, the consequences can be severe.
These cases are rarely simple. The responsible party may be a transit authority, a school district, a private bus contractor, a maintenance company or another driver, and claims against government entities follow special rules. Our role is to identify every liable party, gather the evidence, and take your case to litigation if that’s what it takes.
Collisions involving MCTS and other public transit buses. These claims come with strict notice requirements, so acting early matters.
When a child is hurt going to or from school, you deserve answers. We pursue claims against districts, private bus contractors and negligent drivers.
Long-distance coaches and tour buses rely on drivers who may be fatigued or behind schedule. We hold operators accountable for unsafe practices.
Airport, hotel, church, senior-living and employer shuttles must also carry passengers safely. Negligence by any operator is grounds for a claim.
A bus's size and blind spots leave people on foot or on a bike with no protection. We fight for full recovery of medical bills and lost wages.
When a bus crash takes a family member, we've settled similar cases to our clients' satisfaction and have the resources to litigate.

Yes, and it’s short. Under Wisconsin law (Wis. Stat. § 893.80), a written notice of claim must generally be served on a government entity within 120 days of the accident, and damages against public entities are capped. Private bus companies follow the standard personal injury deadline (Wis. Stat. § 893.54). Call us as soon as possible.
Get your child medical attention first, even if the injuries seem minor. Then write down the bus number, the route and the names of any witnesses. Contact us before speaking with the district’s or the bus company’s insurer.
